We consider that this policy should refer directly to mixed use development, in addition to simply referring to a mix of housing types.

We support the Council's intention to seek to ensure a genuine mix of housing types within existing and future communities. To achieve this, the Core Strategy must allow for sufficient new development in the main towns and service villages.

We must ensure that the mix of properties is correct and that when we recommend a mix of 1,2,3 and 4 bed homes this is delivered, rather than a majority of one beds with a few 2 and 3 beds. We need to make the mix requirement clearer so that family properties are developed as well as properties for one. Perhaps specific percentages could be introduced to deliver the mix we need?
