Proposed level of development in Nailsea of 885 new houses cannot be considered to be sustainable in the current climate.

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Settlement Boundaries Policy SA1: Settlement Boundaries

  • Comment ID: 931233//2
We support the principle of development boundaries that help preserve and maintain the character and identity of towns and village but the second paragraph ‘the extension of a residential curtilage………of adjoining occupiers’ appears to counter that policy and would therefore make it more difficult to enforce. We suggest that the second paragraph is removed.

The Rugby club has to move to a new site (opposite Bridge Inn, proposed). The current site will be redundant for sports purposes. The move has been forced by loss of Junior pitches to the Perssimon allocated site to the east and the Redrow site at Oxford Instruments to the south. These 2 housing allocations have deprived the Club of its Car Parking and Junior section playing fields. The current site if allocated, will realise sufficient funds to carry out the relocation. (Around 85 dwellings).

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Schedule 1: Proposed large sites for residential development over 10 dwellings (Sites marked with a * are mixed use sites). Nailsea West of Engine Lane

  • Comment ID: 14842177//1
I am writing to voice my opposition to the proposed building. The build will cause a lot more traffic in that area which already struggles, more cars will use nailseas car parks as it is too far from town for people to walk to. The schools wouldn't cope with all the extra children and I think it will spoil the area and take away lots of bridle paths, footpaths which are used lots and a lot of the nature.

4 acres with housing or pp for housing on 3 sides.Located adjacent the Hallam development site, for which pp granted in outline at Feb P&R. The land is elevated and of similar character to the Hallam site. It is proposed that some of this land be allocated for small self build homes, an area of housing development in short supply in N Som. The owners are also keen to see starter housing for locally employed workers, particularly those working in agriculture.

We believe the inclusion of this additional land as a residential allocation would provide a logical extension to these residential extensions, and allow a comprehensive development proposal to come forward across the entire eastern area of Yatton. The land is unconstrained, bar an area of flood zone alongside the far northern boundary. There are no constraints acting upon this site that would prevent or hinder its development.

Development at Cox's Green Wrington Support for resisting further development at Wrington due to lack of services ,poor drainage , intrusion into the countryside ,poor highway network and loss of biodiversity
