a) The total number of houses allocated to the 5 Service Villages is 1,247. If the sites are approved for Yatton, the total would be 696 houses which would seem to be a very unfair distribution. b) We are pleased to note that Claverham, as an infill village, will not have any proposed sites for development. c) We would also wish to see waste land and brownfield sites used rather than destroying the green fields. It is noted that the developments in Weston are making good use of existing b

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Introduction Purpose of the document

  • Comment ID: 3106433//12
Yatton Parish is currently developing two Neighbourhood Plans,(Yatton/Claverham) the Site Allocation Plan needs to be shaped by these emerging plans as they reflect the needs and aspirations of the communities. The Local Planning Authority has a duty to its electorate . Each District Councillor has to have the courage to resist and challenge the crisis management of the Local Planning Authority which could lead to catastrophic outcomes for future generations

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Schedule 1: Proposed large sites for residential development over 10 dwellings (Sites marked with a * are mixed use sites). Service Villages Land to the east and west of Wemberham Lane, Yatton

  • Comment ID: 3106433//5
Land to the east and west of Wemberham Lane: We would like to see an industrial estate for small enterprises or office units on the east side as businesses would easily access public transport. The west side would be more appropriate for housing development.

Yatton Station: Agree with improving the capacity of the existing railway car park but the junction with the High Street is very problematic.

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Schedule 1: Proposed large sites for residential development over 10 dwellings (Sites marked with a * are mixed use sites). Service Villages Arnolds Way, (Phase 2) Yatton

  • Comment ID: 3106433//8
The cumulative environmental and drainage impact of the two developments and Arnolds Way phase 1 has not been adequately assessed. The village infrastructure is not sustainable and there are no facilities at all in North end, which will disadvantage residents with mobility and access issues.

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Introduction Plan making progress

Consider that this process of consultation for the SAP does not follow due judicial process and is considered undemocratic by the fact that North Somerset Council Planning Committee has already approved three planning applications submitted prior to the SAP consultation and without approval by the Inspectorate and Secretary of State. These three developments are Arnolds Way Phase 1 and 2 (Bloor) with houses already being built, and Land at North End Yatton (Hallam) and a five arm roundabout.

  • Comment ID: 3106433//2
One of the key objectives is to “ensure major development proposals are delivered in tandem with the necessary improvements in physical and social infrastructure such as flood mitigation, healthcare facilities etc.” Over recent years there have been significant developments at North End . During this period no social, community or highway infrastructure developments has taken place.

Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Schedule 1: Proposed large sites for residential development over 10 dwellings (Sites marked with a * are mixed use sites). Service Villages Moor Road, Yatton

  • Comment ID: 3106433//10
This site should be designated as a Local Green Space . The area adjacent to the curtilage of the Grade II Listed Building at the Grange and the remnant orchard should be excluded from the site allocation as they have huge historical interest and contribute to the visual character of the village. The rhyne is part of a continuous riparian habitat. Moor Lane is narrow and any increase in the volume of traffic on this stretch of road would cause severe problems that would impact on Kenn Moor Rd
