Site Allocations Plan March 2016 Schedule 1: Proposed large sites for residential development over 10 dwellings (Sites marked with a * are mixed use sites). Nailsea West of Engine Lane

I am writing to voice my opposition to the proposed building. The build will cause a lot more traffic in that area which already struggles, more cars will use nailseas car parks as it is too far from town for people to walk to. The schools wouldn't cope with all the extra children and I think it will spoil the area and take away lots of bridle paths, footpaths which are used lots and a lot of the nature.

Whilst I have every understanding of the need for more housing, where building takes place has to be given more though! The proposed Engine Lane development is far from an appropriate site. The access is bad in all directions, town center, schools, medical facilities are a long way away. The site has a history of flooding and the land was earmarked for 'recreational use' when originally sold. Not a very clever place to build.

I believe that the fields were bought to safeguard them and ensure that they were available for the residents of Nailsea. Nailsea is a rural town and this is one of the reasons that we moved to this area. We have lived in an overdeveloped area previously, problems were caused by the over development; difficulty getting Drs appointments, parking issues! There were not enough spaces allocated to homes built roads become too busy

Development of this land will remove valuable recreation space and cause traffic issues.

The Engine Lane site is not of the right land type or in the right place for sustainable development and should be removed from the plan.

Objection to proposed development on land west of Engine Lane Nailsea: My concerns are inadequate road links to the south and west, the destruction of a local amenity, the protection of bats and the need to preserve land of historic interest and agricultural value.
