The cumulative environmental impact of the two developments and Arnolds Way phase 1 has not been adequately assessed. The village infrastructure is not sustainable and there are no facilities at all in North end, which will disadvantage residents with mobility and access issues. Young families are too far away from the school and shopping precinct so inevitably will use private cars, adding to the already congested highways. The number of vehicle journeys identified by the developers are inconsistent and do not reflect the accurate number of vehicle movement. Some of the bus services identified have already been withdrawn, which is a common problem when private bus companies provide transport in rural areas.

We would like to know what evidence the developers have that the flood prevention interventions (Ponds) will prevent flooding in the North and Horsecastle Ward. All the outlying fields are the ‘sponges’ that soak up the rainfall and prevent the village from being flooded. Mass concreting of these fields in flood risk 2 and 3 areas will inevitably increase the risk of flooding in the village.
