Education land for mainstream and special education needs should be identified and land allocated. For example, there is an acute need for additional special education needs development in North Somerset (see here).

Live-Work units need a stand-alone policy and should be encouraged. Such development would underpin sustainable living patterns and provide opportunities to support and maintain rural vitality.

Care Homes – dementia care, general elderly care and assisted living together with retirement villages are now essential and the market demand will increase due to the UKs aging population profile. A specific policy should address this matter and suitable land needs to be identified and allocated.
