[Closed]Core Strategy Proposed Main Modifications to the Submission Document
The Core Strategy, once adopted will be the primary planning policy document for North Somerset. It will set out broadly where and what sort of development will take place and how communities can develop up to 2026.
The North Somerset Core Strategy was submitted to the Secretary of State on 8 July 2011 and is currently being examined by an independent planning inspector Mr Brian Sims. During the process of the examination it became evident that a number of modifications should be made to the Core Strategy.
The proposed modifications upon which we are seeking your views are the Main Modifications. These are modifications which potentially affect the soundness of the Core Strategy. The purpose of consulting widely now is to enable the Inspector to take any representations made on these proposed modifications into account when he compiles his report.
The consultation period runs for six weeks from Thursday 26 January until midnight Wednesday 7 March.
Please note that representations can only be made in respect of the proposed Main Modifications and not in respect of the plan as a whole. The Council previously published proposed changes to the Publication version in July 2011. Responses received to this consultation have already been taken into account by the Inspector during the course of the examination.
In addition to the Main Modifications the council is proposing a number of minor modifications known as Additional Modifications. These comprise factual updates, points of clarification and other minor changes which individually, or in combination, do not materially affect the soundness of the Core Strategy. A schedule of these changes is available below for information only.
The easiest way is to respond to the consultation is online where you can view the documents, and respond via our e-consult system. Representations on the proposed Main Modifications must be received by midnight Wednesday 7 March 2011
