Common sense must prevail and the new station should be built at the proposed location next to Waitrose. Any extra cost involved for building a bridge should be paid for by self interested greedy developers.

DM49 - Proposals for economic development within towns and defined settlements: To ensure consistency with adopted Core Strategy policy CS20 and proposed Sites and Policies Plan policy DM52, we recommend that the following sentence is added to the penultimate paragraph of policy DM49: 'Proposals for economic development of land and buildings used or last used as employment sites for economic use, will be looked on favourably'. DM50 - Allocated and safeguarded B1, B2 and B8 use class sites:

DM51 - Allocated mixed use sites: We recommend that Bleadon Quarry is removed from the list of allocated mixed use sites in accompanying Schedule 3. DM52 - Safequarded existing employment sites for economic use: For clarification, we recommend that the policy's first sentence is amended to read: 'Land and buildings used or last used for B uses will be safeguarded for economic uses.' This will ensure that there is no scope for misinterpreting the intended purpose of the policy as clarified b

We write on behalf of our clients, the Church Commissioners for England, to make representations on the consultation draft 'Sites and Policies Plan' published in February 2013. Our representations focus on the policies and planning issues associated with (and relevant to) the newly proposed mixed use site allocation for Bleadon Quarry, Bleadon (site allocation policy BL1). In summary, we are concerned that the proposed policy is 'the thin end of the wedge' and that employment use may be lost e

To ensure that as much of the site as possible is retained for employment use, we would wish to see various amendments made to the policies contained within the consultation draft document. In light of the points made above, please see our comments set out in relation to specific policies below: DM 33 - Settlement Boundaries: We acknowledge the adjustment to the Bleadon settlement boundary at Bleadon Quarry. This is acceptable only if employment use is protected on the site. If it is considere

Policy DM1 Flooding and Drainage Persimmon Homes object to Policy DM1 Flooding and Drainage. The majority of the draft policy is supported. However, the final element of the policy refers to the strategic flood solution at the former Weston Airfield and to the south of the Cross Rhyne and for flood management infrastructure along the River Banwell as shown on the Proposals Map. Unfortunately, the Proposals Map does not accurately show the latest extent of the strategic flood solution at Westo

As a general comment, and notwithstanding the statement on the title page of the consultation site, it is considered premature for consultation on the Draft Sites and Policies Plan to proceed in advance of a thorough assessment of the implications for this plan arising from the successful High Court challenge to the North Somerset Core Strategy. Having regard to the scope and extent of matters remitted back to the Secretary of State (SoS) for re-examination, together with the revised national

Policy DM13: Development within the Green Belt I would like to comment and object to the following wording within policy DM13, Development within the Green Belt 'Where the character of the area is one of a predominantly residential road characterised by large detached houses, on well screened and spacious plots (for example Cadbury Camp Lane north of Tickenham), it is possible that more substantial house extensions or replacement houses may be accommodated than in other parts of the Green Belt.

I strongly support the need to reopen the railway between Portishead and Bristol for passenger traffic, and I compliment the N.Somerset Council for keeping that option open by safeguarding the land. Option 1 is clearly the best site for the station, being accessible to people from both "old" and "new" Portishead and close to the shops and harbour. It has the further advantage of keeping the station and its car park away from houses, minimising noise problems. It is also the place people coming
