Policy DM44 Gypsy and Travellers - We welcome the identification of two 'off site' opportunities (outside of the Weston Villages). However, we note the policy considers that "further consideration will also be given to the potential to deliver additional sites within the Weston Villages or at off-site locations". For the reasons detailed within our previous representations to the Gypsy and Traveller site consultation exercises we are concerned with the potential for further site allocations w

Gypsy Sites The Town Council considers that there should be much wider, specific and continued consultation undertaken by North Somerset Council with local residents and businesses in this particular policy area of the plan.

Proposed site for Gypsy and Traveller pitches at Old Junction Yard. We are concerned with the Gypsy's, it is not fair that the council has proposed a site so close to other houses and industrial units. The Gypsys are going to be blamed for any theft or damage to yards, lorryparks and buildings. Their children are going to be put at harm when they attend schools in the local area. The council should realise that the local buisnesses provide towards the local economy!

Gypsy camp We do not want a Gypsy encampment near us as it brings down the property prices. Puts older people under pressure (makes them very nervous) and the problems that the extra vehicles coming and going will create. What about the people with a business next to them? What about the people in the bungalows?

Gypsy site - Old Junction Road This site is totally the wrong site for this type of use. The ground is condemed from years ago due to landfill, and as for placing it next to 2 scrap yards thats like placing red rag to a bull, there is no way of protecting these sites, there is protected wildlife on the site, also the strain on the local schools, GP surgery would not cope, this needs to be looked into with much more depth. Being so close to the railway line is going to pose a threat, dust from t

Somewhat disturbed by the pos of Traveller Site - contaminated terrain and landfill site not fit for caravan/mobile home park! Massive input of housing will require enormous support in schooling/medical facilities. Also junction 21 will find it hard to cope would like full consultation instead of consultation lite.
