Objection to Policies DM 13, 20, 33, 34, 48,50, 51,71,72,73 and to SCHEDULEs 1 & 2 Reasoned justification The continued consultation in this Sites and Policies Plan on many policies including policy DM 13, 20, 33, 34, 48,50, 51,71,72,73 and SCHEDULEs 1 & 2 is inappropriate, following the decision of the High Court to remit strategic policies within the Core Strategy 2012. Until such time as the Council have addressed the matters referred to in Court Judgement, there are substantial elements of

We provide representations on the proposed designation of the Nailsea Glassworks site as Strategic Open Space on behalf of the owner of the adjoining land (The Royal Oak 41 High Street Nailsea). The site is listed as protected under policy DM72 which provides criteria for the assessment of new proposals for sporting, cultural or community facilities. This policy does not appear applicable to Glassworks site which does not provide any sporting, cultural or community facilities at present. It is

B.3.3 Employment, Education: Educational establishments provide the major source of employment in Backwell. It is reported that there is a shortfall in pupil places in at least 2 schools with pupils unsustainably attending out-of-village schools. The 2011 Census shows a growth in the youngest age groups. This Association will support the extension of village schools, to meet local needs, improve facilities and provide additional employment opportunities.

Policy DM72 and Schedule 4 of the Sites and Policies Plan allocates part of our client's land at The Batch, Yatton (west of Mendip Road) as proposed strategic open space. This carries forward the allocation under Policy CF/4 of the Replacement Local Plan. It adjoins a proposed primary school site on other land. In isolation, it is considered that there is no reasoned justification for the continuance of the previous policy and it does not possess any inherent characteristics that make it specif

DM72 - We support the continuation of the Strategic Open Space to the west of Bridge Road. In addition we would suggest that the three fields bordered by Bridge Road, Bleadon Road and the A370 be designated as a Local Green Space (Policy DM73). These three fields, at the heart of the village are important to the beauty and historical character of Bleadon and should be protected.

Policy DM72 and Schedule 4 of the Sites and Policies Plan allocate part of our client's land at Parklands Village as playing fields for a new secondary school/UTC required as part of the development of Weston Villages. As presently proposed, the allocation includes land which, because of its location and elevation (low risk of flooding) would be more suited to residential development as part of the Parklands Village development. Given that the playing fields are intended to be largely undevelope
